Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah (born in India) is a playback singer, actress and musician. She is primarily musician and performer for Tamil as well as Malayalam-language movies. Her acting debut came in the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam, and her Malayalam d but with Annayum Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah grew up in an Anglo-Indian home at Arakkonam Tamil Nadu. Andrea's father was an attorney at the Madras High Court lawyer. Her younger sister is who lives and works at Leuven Belgium as researcher assistant. Jeremiah was born in Chennai attended National Public School. He was a graduate of Women's Christian College. Andrea began learning classical piano around the age of eight. Andrea was a huge fan of geeks and wanted to be a psychiatrist. She sang in the Jackson Five style troupe Young Stars when she was 10. This group formed the foundation for her music and singing career. Also, she was a stage performer during college. She was the President of the Student Senate at Women's Christian College. Andrea started her career performing in theater as Girish Karanad's Nagamandala. In 2006, she was a part-time actress in an advertisement from Leo together with actor Shiva. The actress also acted in one of the shows that was relayed on Podhigai channel. She has performed all over India. There was a brief appearance for the Kanda Mudhal finale (2005). She sang in a song to Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu. He wanted her to play one of his female leads for Pachaikili Muthucharam. This film was a film adaptation of James Siegel's novel Derailed with Andrea as Kalyani a homemaker whose husband engages in an affair and is forced to confess. Andrea was selected for the role because actors Simran Tabu and Tabu were invited to audition for the film. The movie was announced in the early part of 2010. It was announced in the year 2011 that she would take on a small supporting role in Venkatprabhu's multi-starrer Mankatha, which released in August 2011, Her Malayalam film debut alongside her role in Rajeeev Rathi's Annayum Rasoolum in 2013.
